Glenn Reese

Glenn Cleveland Reese was born in Plemons, Texas on November 13, 1916 to parents Eugene Cleveland Reese and Arelia Sue Pitts Reese. He passed from this life on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in Amarillo, Texas.BRBRGlenn graduated from high school in 1934 in Alanreed, Texas. Upon graduation he moved to Navajo, Arizona where his ranching career began. He ranched in Arizona for many years. In 1976, he returned to Texas and settled in Stinnett where he resided for more than 30 years.BRBRGlenn possessed many talents, but he was best known for his participation and success in team roping. Over the years he roped in many events. He was recognized for his winnings in Arizona and the southwestern part of the United States. During his roping career, he won the World Championship Team Roping in Pueblo West, Colorado. He had a great love for fine horses and owned several outstanding roping horses. He also had a passion for small animals, especially dogs and cats. He was an excellent trainer of both horses and dogs.BRBRGlenn Reese will be best remembered for his quick wit and one liners. He was a favorite of all his nephews and nieces and never failed to let them know that they were special to him in a very unique way. Those who cherished his friendship will certainly feel the void of his presence.BRBRHe was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters. He is survived by one brother, Donald Reese of Harrisburg, Oregon, one niece and six nephews. Numerous great nieces and nephews also survive him.BRBRServices are scheduled for Friday, June 19, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of the Nazarene in Stinnett, Texas. Pastor Kenneth Benton will conduct the services. Interment will follow in Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Visitation is set at MintonChatwell Funeral Home in Borger at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2009.
