Gloria Janice Newman, 70, of Borger, died Thursday, March 22, 2012 in Amarillo.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March, 24, 2012 at the Church of Christ at Borger with Mr. Denny Snead, Pastor officiating, and Pastor Terry Stegall of Newlife church in Dalhart assisting. Interment will follow in the Garden of Hope at Westlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Gloria Janice Newman was born August 20, 1941 in Wellington to Duard F., and Gladys Lucille Gibbons Downs. She was a Borger resident for over 40 years, and a member of the Church of Christ at Borger. Janice married Roy Allen Newman May 30, 1957 in Wellington. She loved to sew, spending time with grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and taking care of her family.

Survivors include her husband Roy of the home two daughters Pamela Russell of Borger, Kathy Hough, and husband Jarrod of Amarillo a brother, J.R. Downs of Wellington six grandchildren six greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Allen Newman November 5, 2010.
