Harry Sharpton

Harry Eugene Sharpton, 90 of Amarillo died Sunday March 18th in Amarillo. Memorial services will be 10:30 am Saturday March 24th at Victory Baptist Church in Stinnett. Arrangements are by Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Harry was born December 29, 1927 in Chanute, OK to Walter and Mary (Applegate) Sharpton. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was a plant operator for Jupiter. He moved to Amarillo from Tonkawa, OK. Married Nina C. Thyson August 2, 1962 in Miami, OK.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Linda Sue and granddaughter Billie Lockhart.

Harry is survived by sons Richard and wife Jan M. Sharpton of Stinnett; Paul R. and wife Sara J. Sharpton of Fritch; Alfred Sharpton and wife Peggy of Perryton; Charles T. and wife Debbie Sharpton of Howardwick; James R. Sharpton of Amarillo. Daughters Cheryl Alcayde and partner Phillip Franks of Bartlesville; Janice M. and husband Tom White of Ponca City. Sister Wilma Webb of Davenport, IA. Eighteen grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
