Helen Sibley

Helen Marie Sibley, 73, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in Borger, Texas surrounded by her family.

Services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church in Borger, Texas with Pastor Grady Burkhalter officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery.   Arrangements are by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.  Visitation for Helen will be on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m at Minton-Chatwell Funeral Home.

Helen was born on June 19, 1949, in Borger, Texas to Matt and Juanita Armstrong. She married Jimmie Sibley on June 18, 1966, and called Borger her home. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was a long time United States Postal Service employee.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmie Sibley; daughter, Melanie Howell; son, Shannon Sibley; sister, Sherry Hanrahan; and brothers, Larry and Bill Armstrong.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Damon Sibley and wife Maria of Amarillo; son-in-law, Jesse Howell and wife Debbie of Borger; brother-in law, Kenneth Sibley and wife Cindy of Borger; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Sibley of Borger; nine grandchildren, Brittney Eastwood, Candice Garcia, Kyle Howell, Devin Sibley, Delise Sibley, Jordan Mihecoby, Andrew Moores, Dylan Sumner, Kelsi Sumner; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Helen was a loving mother and grandmother.  She had a deep love for animals and friends rarely saw Helen without a pet in tow. She especially loved and doted over her cat, Baby Girl.  She will be remembered fondly in the hearts of all her family and friends. May her memory endure in and through all who encountered her.

The family suggests memorials be made in remembrance of Helen to the Southside Baptist Church in Borger, Texas.
