Henry “Hank” Dompe went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 7, 2021 in Amarillo. Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the Celebration Church in Fritch with Pastor Dwight Kirksey officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors. There will be a visitation on Monday evening, April 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. The service will be live streamed on Minton Chatwell website.
Hank was born February 2, 1944 in Stockton, California to Daniel Dominic and Louise Marie Cardoza Dompe. He moved to the Texas Panhandle in 1975. He was a truck driver for Evenson Trucking. Hank was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1789 at Borger and the Palo Duro Masonic Lodge in Amarillo. He loved remodeling and woodworking. He especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle and service to the veteran community.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Daniel.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Tony Dompe and wife, Kelly of Borger and Jason Dompe and wife, Lisa of Amarillo; daughters, Deanna Dompe and wife, Anneliese of Washington, Carrie McMillan and husband Bobby and Courtney Ward, all of Amarillo; brother, Billy Henry and wife, Debbie of Oregon; sister, Diane Marie Dompe of Ripon, California. Hank was also blessed with seven grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
The family will be staying at 200 Bois D Arc, Borger. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation in Hank’s name to the Amarillo Vietnam War Memorial, C/O Panhandle War Memorial, 4111 S. Georgia, Amarillo, TX 79110.
