Hubert Wayne Tubby DeShields, 85, died Monday, March 31, 2008 in Amarillo, Texas.BRBRServices will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Riverview Baptist Church with Rev. Derryl DeShields, officiating and Rev. Jimmy Gillmore, Pastor, assisting. Interment will be in The Garden of Devotion at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.BRBRTubby was born on February 12, 1923 in Beardon, Oklahoma to Brice William Ida Faye DeShields. He was a member of the 778th squadron, 464th Bomb Group of the 15th Air Force in Italy during World War II. After the war he returned to Oklahoma where he met and fell in love with Kittie Eva Wyrick. They were married on March 16, 1946 and later moved to the Texas panhandle where Tubby went to work for Phillips Petroleum Co. He worked in Sneed and Dmas and then moved to Borger where he worked in the NGL section of the Borger Refinery and NGL Process Center until his retirement in 1982. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Riverview Baptist Church in Borger.BRBRTubby was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Kittie. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jay Alford, and sister, Lucille.BRBRHe is survived by two sons - Derryl Wayne DeShields wife, Kaye of Berryville, Arkansas, Michael David DeShields wife, Nancy of Amarillo, daughter - Gerry Diane Taliaferro husband, John of Summerville, SC, brother - Jack DeShields wife, Peggy of Cromwell, OK, ten grandchlidren and fourteen great-grandchildren and one due anytime.BRBRCasket bearers will be David DeShields, Robert J.
