Ida Darden

Ida Mae Darden, 80, died at home on Thursday, August 30th, 2007 in Borger, Texas. Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Borger with Rev. K. O. Johnson, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church officiatibg and Rev. Melvin Brooks doing the eulogy. Burial will be in the Evergreen Garden at Wetslawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Ms. Ida was born May 1, 1927 to Lewis and Mary Walker in Laneville, Texas. She worked for over 30 years at the Johnson Swimming Pool as Pool Supervisor and as a School Crossguard for over 30 years as well. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She married Bennie Darden on July 23, 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son Sylvester Darden. Survivors include her 3 sons - Nathaniel Robinson and wife, Sara of Borger, Bennie Darden, Jr. and wife, Melinda of Amarillo and Johnnie Darden and wife, Linda of Nashville, TN; 2 daughters - Loretta Darden of Mesguite, TX and Katie Darden of Borger; 3 sisters - Ada Smith of Orlando, FL., Vera Wilson of Apache Junction, AZ and Mary Walker of Lancaster, TX; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren
