Ila Jean Roach

Ila Jean Roach, 89, passed away Monday, March 24, 2025.

Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Ila was born February 4, 1936, in Sedan, New Mexico to George W. Lechner and Lelah Fudge Lechner. She worked for many years as a secretary at Northwest Texas Hospital. Ila enjoyed reading, sewing and doing needlepoint.

She is preceded in death by her parents; George W. and Lelah Lechner; son, Gary Lee Roach; daughter, Karen Elaine Roach; brother, Ted Lechner; and sister, Darlene Wann and husband Oliver.

Survivors include her son, Ron Roach and wife Tanya of Fritch; grandchildren, Jason West, Jeffrey West, Joe West, Jeremy Roach and wife Megan, Melissa Kealing and husband Adam, Robert Roach; nine great grandchildren; brother, Don Lechner and wife Nancy of Amarillo; sisters, Georgia Dimitroff and husband Rodney of Clayton, New Mexico, Mary Lutes and husband Billy of Sedan, New Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
