Irene Johns

Irene Johns, 97, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, August 25, 2022 in the Minton Memorial Chapel.  Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the funeral home.

Irene was born August 9, 1925, in Hawley, Texas to John Gordon Morris and Bessie Mae Ohaver Morris.  She married Homer O. Johns on August 7, 1948, in Clovis, New Mexico.  Irene was very strong in her faith in Jesus Christ, and she worshiped at Faith Fellowship.  She enjoyed reading, quilting, laughing, and visiting.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Bessie Morris; husband, Homer O. Johns; sons, Mickey Johns, Bob Johns; granddaughter, Kim Warren; brothers, Clay Morris, J.O. Morris; and sister, Thelma Venable.

Survivors include her daughters, Shela Skidmore of Borger, Shirley Jones of Borger; grandchildren, Jason Pettit, Lisa Kirk and husband Rickie Moon, Tim West, Danny West, Mandy Baskett and husband Matt, Holly McAfee and husband Jacob; great grandchildren, Jade Kirk and fiancé, Billy Phillips, JW Warren, Brayden Warren, Brooke Pettit, Bailey Pettit, Atticus McAfee, Axel McAfee; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
