J. F. Buck Formby 89, of Stinnett died December 5th in Borger. Cremation is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Graveside services will be 10:00 am Thursday at Stinnett Cemetery under the auspices of Masonic Unity Lodge 1242 officiating.

Buck was born April 9, 1924 in Hopkins County, Texas the piney woods of East Texas to William Roy and Nora Bell Dean Formby. He served in the US Army during WWII and settled in the Texas Panhandle after the War. He joined the Sea Bees during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Phillips Petroleum Company for 41 years. He married Phyllis Baker November 17, 1949 in Borger. They were married for 64 years. He served as Mayor of Stinnett for 7 years. He served as Fire Chief of Stinnett for ten years and served on the city council board for 3 years. He was on the Board of Trustees of T.P.M.H. and MR in Amarillo, Texas for several years. He was a mason.

Buck was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his Wife Phyllis. Son Bill Formby of Buna Vista, Texas. Daughter Toni Formby of Dallas, Texas. Sister Mary Formby Waddle of Lewisville, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
