Jack Davis, Jr.

Jack A. Davis, Jr., 91, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017.

A memorial service will be held 2 pm Sunday, November 5, 2017 at First Christian Church in Fritch, with Rev. Sharalyn Larsen, officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. In lieu of flowers, his memory may be honored with a gift to the First Christian Church of Fritch, PO Box 688, Fritch, Texas 79036.

Jack was born June 14, 1926 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Minnie Mae Rogers and Joshua Stephen Davis. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a Navy medic but was assigned to the Marine Corps. At the age of 17, he went ashore in Okinawa during the second wave. Jack was a member of First Christian Church in Fritch where he was active in the music ministry as an organist. He was also an ordained minister. Jack was a lover of all animals but had a true place in his heart for cats and dogs. He enjoyed cooking, but baking was his true passion.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth Ellen Davis; and son, Michael Stephen Davis.

Survivors include his grandchildren, Josh Davis, Casey Davis, and Jonathan Davis; three great grandchildren; sister, Jo Ann Robertson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and cousin, Billie Simmons of Fritch.
