FRITCH - Jack Jim Henson, 89, of Fritch died Thursday, February 26, 2016 at his home. Services for Mr. Henson will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, at the Gruver United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Chappell officiating. Burial will follow at the Gruver Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Jack was born on July 25, 1926 in Cookson, Oklahoma to Wash H. and Betty Cookson Henson. He married the love of his life, Ola Florence "Sue" Dozier on July 25, 1947 in Gruver on the farm. Jack has been a farmer his entire life. He and his bride lived in Fritch for the past 35 years. Jack was a member of the Gruver United Methodist Church, a 32nd degree Mason, past Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge in Borger and an avid Gruver Greyhound fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, two half-sisters and one half-brother.
Jack is survived by his wife, Sue; his sons, Tommy Henson and wife, Cynthia of San Antonio, and Danny Henson and wife, Mary Jane of Gruver; four grandchildren, Tucker Henson of Dallas, Clayton Henson of San Antonio, Mary Dawn McEnany of Houston and Dallas Henson of Houston. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Interim Hospice. They also request that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Gruver Cemetery Fund or the Loyd Looper Scholarship Fund at Gruver High School, P.O. Box 650, Gruver, TX 79040.
