Jack Whitten

Jack Whitten, 92 of Borger died Saturday, September 24th in Borger.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, September 28th at Church of Christ at Borger with Mr. Denny Sneed of Borger and Mr. Richard Kasko of Fritch officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Family visitation will be Tuesday 5: 00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home

Jack was born December 25, 1923 in Collingsworth County, TX to Bob and Julia (Word) Whitten. He graduated from Shamrock High School where he played Football and was co-Captain in 1942. He served in the US Army during WWII as a Medic serving with the 31st Field Hospital. On August 10, 1947 he married Juanita Cooper in Wheeler, TX. He was a member of Church of Christ at Borger and a Borger resident for 62 years. He loved to fish, woodworking and seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.
Jack is survived by his wife Juanita of the home. Daughters Pam Darden and husband Doug of Borger: Tanya Duge and husband Mike of Corpus Christi, TX. Five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
