James Cassity Jr

James Freeman Sonny Cassity Jr, 75 of Stinnett died Sunday June 2nd in Amarillo, Texas. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday June 6th at Grace Fellowship Church with pastor Tim Hall and Willie Adams pastor of Eternal Light Church officiating. Burial will be in Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. A family visitation will be June 5th Wednesday at Minton Chatwell 314 S. Hedgecoke in Borger from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Sonny was born November 20, 1937 in Davenport, Oklahoma to James Freeman Cassity Sr. and Rosetta Hickman. He was a longtime resident of Stinnett. He worked as a truck driver until retiring. He served in the US Navy and was a member of Eternal Light Church. He loved to fish, watching his grandchildren play football and basketball and spending time with grandchildren and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother in law LeRroy Withers, step father Jack Whitfield and a step brother Jack Curry.

Sonny is survived by a daughter Samantha Schaeffer and husband Pete of Sturgis, MI. Sons Aaron Cassity and wife Lacey of Stinnett, Mark Cassity and Fiance Michelle Humphrey of Borger. Brothers Clarence and wife June of Barnsdall, OK, Bill Curry and wife Nelda of Lamar, CO, Mike Curry and wife Renea of Stinnett. A sister Carroll Withers of Stinnett. Ten Grandchildren.
