James Davis

James Harold "Jim" Davis, 82, of Borger passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, July 26, 2017.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Calvary Baptist Church with Jasper Mitchell of Borger officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Hope at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

James Harold "Jim" Davis was born April 12, 1935 in Shamrock to Marvin Everett and Jewell Bradley Davis. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. Jim married Virginia Joyce "Jenny" Ambler on December 27, 1957 in Twitty. They moved to Borger from Shamrock in 1958. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a past deacon, and Sunday school teacher. Jim also had a locksmith company known as Jim's Lock and Key. He loved carpentry work.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, and son James Curtis "Bowie" Davis September 26, 2008.

Survivors include his wife Virginia Joyce "Jenny" Davis; his son Robert Alan "R.D." Davis of Borger; two brothers Ronnie Davis, Rick Davis and wife Kim both of Amarillo; his sister Barbara Dewey and husband Wayne of Waco; four grandchildren Nick Davis, Lacy Whitmire, Amanda Davis, Ryan Davis; six great-grandchildren Brynne Davis, Jordyn Petitt, Kasyn Collier, Braelee Whitmire, Haidyn and Hunter Gaona.

Family will be at 1620 Takewell.
