Brice was born to Doris and Jim Gabel on April 17, 1960. He was a long time farmer and rancher. In his youth, Brice participated in 4-H and exhibited livestock at shows across the state. Brice graduated from Panhandle High School. He was a devoted Panhandle Panther and Pantherette fan. He was a Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan to such an extent that friends claimed he would bleed green. For years, he made the annual trip to the National Finals Rodeo with friends and neighbors.
Brice played an integral part in raising his nieces and nephews, and more recently, his great nieces and great nephews. He was a true family man and loyal friend to many.
Brice was predeceased by his father, James H. (Jim) Gabel, a sister, Lynette Wright, his paternal grandparents, Leo and Anna Gable, and his maternal grandparents, Frank and Madelyn Metcalf.
Brice is survived by his mother, Doris Gabel, his brothers Dale and wife, Cindy and Leland and wife, Lana, all of Panhandle, and a special friend, Teresa Irving, of Amarillo. He is also survived by 3 nieces and 5 nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and a slew of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. You know who you are and how he loved you.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Frances Church, the Lynette Wright Scholarship Fund, or a favorite charity.
