James M. Buck Hawthorne, 72, of Stinnett, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in Amarillo.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9,2013 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Borger with Rev. Dr. Jeff Hutchison of Calvary Baptist Church officiating, and the eulogy by Lavon Thompson. Interment will follow at the Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
James Buck Hawthorne was born January 7, 1941 in Lamar, Oklahoma. He retired in 1999 as a stillman from Phillips Petroleum Company after working there for 25 years. James married Francis Jerrie Linzy February 12, 1959 and had lived in Stinnett for 43 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and loved playing with his grandkids, playing bluegrass and gospel music, gardening, pampering his dog, and carpentry.
Survivors include his wife Francis Jerrie Hawthorne, two daughters Tonnie Hawthorne Leewright of Borger, Paula Hawthorne Bangel and husband Robert of Louisa, Virginia, three grandchildren Lisa Callahan and husband Tommy, Justin Hawthorne, and Whitney Pierce, three greatgrandchildren Lauren, Brenna, and Colin Callahan.
James is preceded in death by his son James Dale Hawthorne, and a brother Marvin Hawthorne.
