James Manning

J. R. Dick Manning, 80, died Thursday, August 5, 2010 at his home in Fritch.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the First Southern Baptist Church in Fritch with Rev. Calvin Winters, Pastor officiating. Interment will be in The Garden of Good Shepherd at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Manning was born on February 2, 1930 in Tillmon County, Oklahoma and had been an area resident for 70 years. He was a barber and member of First Southern Baptist Church in Fritch. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Ethel Spohr on December 16, 1961 in Borger. He was preceded in death by his son Kim Manning in 1979, brother Gale Manning and sister Marge Cook.

Survivors include his wife Ethel Manning of the home, son Kerry Manning and wife Kay of Fritch, daughter Sally Pierce of Dallas, two sisters Rudiene McNeill of Tulsa, Ok, Louise Amason of Corpus Christi, TX, two grandchildren Megan Manning Wells and Dallas Manning.
