James Neasbitt

September 21, 1928 — January 15, 2015

James E. Neasbitt, 86, passed away January 15, 2015 in Amarillo. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 19, at Minton Memorial Chapel with Less Sharp and Tadd Mann officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors.

James was born in Kingston, Ok, on September 21, 1928 to William and Nancy (Burris) Neasbitt. He was a star basketball player at Cobb High School. James married Geneva Faye Marcom on July 29, 1950. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the Native American Chickasaw Nation tribe. James was a train Conductor at the Pantex Plant. He was also a member of the Hutchinson County Sheriff's Posse and a sponsor of the Rodeo Club.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Faye in 2009, his parents, three brothers, one sister, and his son-in-law, Larry Lewis.

Survivors are: daughters, Gail Lewis of Borger and Tammy Foster and husband, Kelly of Canyon; sisters, Goldie Campbell and husband, Leo, and Jessie Neasbitt all of Durant, OK; grandchildren, Clay Lewis, Brandon McWilliams, Matt Lewis, and Brittney McWilliams; great-grandchildren, MaKenzie and Katelyn McWilliams, and Abby, Tatum, Owen and Collins Lewis.

In honor of James memory, the family requested contributions be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 1501 Streit Dr., Amarillo, TX 79106
