James Strasia

Jimmy Strasia, 83 of Fritch died Saturday September 29, 2012 at Amarillo, Texas. Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday October 2nd at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Burial will be under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

Jimmy was born April 23, 1929 at Sugarite, NM to James and Francis Milich Strasia. He served in the US Army during Korea serving in Battery B 4th AAA Gun Battallion. He had been a Fritch resident since 1964 and a member of St. Johns Catholic Chruch. He married Dorthy Chambers November 7, 1975 at Stinnett. She preceded him in death 2007 and also his parents. He worked for CIG as a well tender and operator until he retired.

He is survived by a daughter Brenda Taylor and husband John of Fritch. Son Gilbert White and wife Sue of Fritch. Sisters Helen Morrello of Sunnyvale, CA and Shirley Miller of Portland, Oregon. Five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Associaton.
