James Strickland

James Ray Strickland, 58, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 pm on Friday, May 20, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Fritch.  Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.  In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to Mandy’s Pantry, C/O of FBC of Fritch, PO Box 1872, Fritch, Texas, 79036.

James was born June 12, 1963, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to James Rogers Strickland and Carolyn May Devoll Strickland.   He worked as a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning technician.  James enjoyed doing mechanic work and restoring vehicles, especially his hot rod.  James was an active member of First Baptist Church of Fritch.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Strickland and Carolyn Devoll; and his wife, Paula Strickland.

Survivors include his step-mother, Linda Strickland of Louisiana; son, Xzavier Daniels of Fritch; step-sons, Robert Edwards and wife Melissa of Liberty Hill, Texas, John Edwards of Montgomery, Texas; step-daughters, Pam Newman and husband Randy of Goodrich, Texas, Dianna Drye and husband Jason of Porter Heights, Texas; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two step-brothers; two step-sisters; aunts, Linda Heeter and husband Gary of Fritch, Ida Ruiz and husband Robert of League City, Texas; and a host of extended family.
