Panhandle Janice Lee Kingham, 79, of Panhandle died Saturday in Amarillo. Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church Panhandle with Rev. Joe Zimmerman, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at the Panhandle Cemetery. Services are under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Casket bearers will be Noel Garrett, J.R. Neil, Mike Leggett, Jerry Wood, Logan Leggett, Jr. Choate, Dennis Martin and Ed McCauley. Honorary bearer will be J.L. Redwine. Janice was born August 30, 1928 in Sayre, OK to Jessie and Allie Carter. She married Raymond H. Kingham August 27, 1949 in Wheeler, TX. She had been a resident of Panhandle for 50 years and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a very devoted wife and mother. She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband of 44 years, a grandson Randy Kingham, a brother Travis Carter and a sister Clenice Robertson. Survivors include: 2 sons - Rick Potts wife Debbie of Kaw City, OK and Mike Kingham and wife Sue of Sayre, Ok.; 2 daughters - Glenda Holt and husband Robert of Panhandle and Belvia Wilkins of Houston; a sister - Corene Kingham and husband Dale of Panhandle; 4 brothers - Laguinn Carter of Elk City, OK, Bobby Carter of Sayre, OK, Kermit Carter of Oklahoma City, OK and Kenneth Carter of Sayre, OK; 11 grandchildren - Terry and Kim, Amy and Noel, Wayne, Sandy and Mike, Christy, Brandy and Jr., Chad and Amanda, Pam and Jimmy, Robin and Tim, Colene and Thomas and Jason and Shanna; 39 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren and a host of neices and nephews and many other relatives she cherished deeply. The family will be staying at 1409 Franklin in Panhandle. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to BSA Hospice Box 950 Amarillo, TX 79105 or First Baptist Church P.O. Box 189 Panhandle, TX 79068.
