Jean A. Johnny Blommaert, 72, died Friday, March 8, 2013 in Amarillo. Rosary will be said Monday at 6:00 p.m. at Minton Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Johns Catholic Church with Father Richard Zannetti, officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Johnny was born March 8, 1941 in Gent, Belgium to Maurice and Marietta Blommaert. He moved to Borger in 1951. As a boy growing up in Borger he worked many jobs and started selling furniture over 50 years ago. He was the owner and operator of Johnnys Furniture. Johnny married Erna Stutz, August 12, 1961, in Germany where he was serving in the U. S. Army. He loved fishing and he will be missed by so many, he had a way of making everyone he met smile.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Erna, his son Mike Blommaert and his wife Karen of Borger, his daughter Angela Alford and her husband Ronnie of Borger, his two brothers Billy West and Teddy West both of Borger, his five sisters Monique Inman of Irving, Marie Smith of Quinlan, TX, Patricia Zimmerman of Pampa, Loretta Scott and Daniva Dally both of Borger, five grandchildren Bradley, Brandon, Brent, Christin, and Kimbo and 1 Great Grandson Brixton.

Casket bearers will be Bradley Blommaert, Brandon Blommaert, Brent Blommaert, Jarrod Hall, David Escalante, Danny Escalante, Jim Scroggins, Jimmy Gowdy, Jeff Whittington, Roy Reynolds and Jim Bridwell.
