Jean Wallace

Jean Wallace, 89 of Borger passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023 in Amarillo, Texas.  Graveside Services will be at Westlawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, October 11 at 2:00 p.m., with Jake Minton officiating.  Burial is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors. 

Jean was born on September 8, 1934 in Dexter, Kansas to Theo and Mary (Hendrickson) Taylor.  She married Jim Wallace on May 11, 1973 in Borger.  Jean loved playing Wahoo, working crossword puzzles, and reading. But, most of all she loved her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Kenny Jones in 1966; son Darrell Jones in 1984 and her son Brian Wallace in 2014; great-granddaughter Jodie Kate Kirklin in 2016; sisters, Betty Launchbaugh and Nita Basinger; and brother, Jerry Taylor.

Jean was survived by her husband, Jim Wallace of the home; daughters, Cyndee Hickman and husband, Benny, and Sherry Kirklin and husband, Irvin all of Borger;  Daughter-in-law Terry Wallace of Berryville, Virginia; Jean was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Marissa Watson and husband TJ of Ringgold, Georgia, Haylee Jagielski and husband, Scott of Red Oak, Texas, Tyler Kirklin and wife, Marci of Perryton, Texas, Trenton Kirklin and wife, Loren of Nashville, Tennessee, and Kelly Wallace and Josh Wallace of Berryville, Virginia.  She was also blessed with 10 precious great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
