Jerry Bennett

Jerry Wayne Bennett, 75, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017.

A celebration of his life will be held at 3 pm on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Rob Frary officiating. In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to the American Cancer Society.

Jerry was born August 24, 1941 in Virden, New Mexico to Harley Ward Bennett and Mary Giovengo Bennett. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Jerry married Charity Eichman on April 15, 1994. He was a retired police officer. Jerry lived life to the fullest, met each day with a smile on his face and shared his sense of humor with those whose lives he touched. Nothing brought more joy to his life than his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce Sanders; and brother, Jimmy Bennett.

Survivors include his wife, Charity of the home; sons, Jerry Wayne Bennett, Jr. and wife, Laurie of Wichita, Kansas, Jerry Wayne Bennett, III and fiancé, Karon Stowe of the home; daughter, Kristine Whisenant and husband, Daniel of Highland Haven, Texas; eight grandchildren, Jonathan, Roger, Shawn, Justin, Nicole, Sage, Allison, and Madison; five great grandchildren; and brothers, Johnny Bennett of Borger, and Harley Bennett and wife, Sharon of Amarillo.
