Jewell Madeline Burns, 92, died Monday, May 5, 2008 in Amarillo, Texas.BRBRServices will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Stinnett with Pastor Rhonda Greenwood, officiating. Interment will be in Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.BRBRMrs. Burns was born on March 26, 1916 in Turnersville, Texas and had been a Stinnett resident since 1945. She married Lewis Burns on February 19, 1934 in Sayre, OK. He preceded her n death in 1980. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Farmer and Glenda Burns; two sisters, Frances Anderson Pearl Midleton; three brothers, Elmo Jones, C. L. Jones and Bobby Max Jones and granddaughter, Lisa Monden. She was a homemaker, member of the Stinnett Methodist Church, Member of Beta Sigma Phi, Senior Citizens. She loved to square dance and was a member of the Yellow Rose of Texas, Boots Calico and Lazy E. Shuffle Square Dance Clubs.BRBRShe is survived by her son - Lewis W. Buddy Burns, Jr. of Pampa, daughter, Pat Monden of Stinnett, sister - Celia Harwell of Abilene, seven grandchlidren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandsons.BRBRCasket bearers will be John Monden, Jr., Steve Orr, Sean Orr, Boots Avent, John Lieb, and Bo Burns. Honorary bearers will be Dean Lieb, Jack Lane, Joe Cox and The Harmony Sunday School Class.BRBRMemorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Box 1192, Stinnett 79083.
