AmarilloBRBRJoel Villa 64, of Amarillo went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 23rd in Fritch.BRBRServices will be 1pm. Thur. Dec. 28, 2006 at the Fritch Assembly of God with Pastor Justin Unwin officiating. Interment will follow at Llano cemetery. Casketbearers will be Ralph Flores, Richard Juarez, Jerry King, Edwin Galley, Fred Miranda, Josh Villa, Mel Mills, and Samuel Smith. BRJoel was born on September 30, 1942 in Meadow, Texas. He was a resident of Amarillo for 44 years and lived in the Borger Fritch area prior to that. Joel was a member of the San Jacinto Assembly of God in Amarillo. He was also self-employed as a painter. Joel married Alice Watson Feb. 9, 1982 in Amarillo. He was a loving son and will be greatly missed by his family, nephews and nieces, great-nephews and nieces, brother and sister-in-laws, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Joel was a Christian and rededicated his life to Jesus Christ in the month of December, 2006. Joel was a very optimistic person and will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity, his great love for children and care for the elderly.BRBRSurvivors include his mother, Maria Villa of Fritch, two brothers - Josh Villa and wife Molly of Amarillo, Abel Villa of Fritch, four sisters, Lydia King and husband Jerry, and Lisa Lanners, both of Amarillo, Elizabeth Galley and husband Edwin, and Ruth Smith both of Fritch, two nephews, Samuel Smith and Fred Miranda, two nieces, Michelle Hickson and Laura Bashir. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Villa Feb. 8, 2006 and his father, Rev. Joe Villa Nov. 27, 2006, sister, Priscilla Villa and nephew, David Villa.
