John Bedenk

John Henry Bedenk, 83 of Panhandle died Sunday May 26th in Amarillo. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Tuesday May 28th at Panhandle Cemetery. Burial will be at Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

John was born February 18, 1930 in Canyon, Texas to Joe and Anna Crestsinger Bedenk. He was raised in Wildorado and Conway, Texas. He served in the US Army during the Korea War from 1952 to 1953. He received the Korean service medal, bronze service star as a HS CO. 14th Engineer C. Battalion. He worked for Estein Ketchum in Conway,TX. where he met Gladys Mae Tolbert and was married on December 8, 1956.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert J. Bedenk, sister Mary Ann Curtis and a son John Wesley Bedenk on December 10, 1985.

He leaves behind his wife of 56 years Gladys. Daughters Katherine Murray and husband Bill Jr. of Panhandle and Anita Yandell of Plantersville, TX. Grandchildren Leroy and Kathy Smith, Jesse Maybaugh, Charity Maybaugh, Shamdy and Danny Davis, Sherman and Kate Johnson. Great grandchildren Kolby, Cody Lane, Logan, Wesley, Ayden, Bree and Evo.
