John Bulla

John Alton Bulla, 86, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 in Amarillo.BRBRServices will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Wesley United Methodist Church with Dr. Jerry Lane, pastor officiating. Interment will be in The Garden of Beatitudes at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.BRBRMr. Bulla was born on May 24, 1922 in Wilson, Oklahoma. He was owner of Bulla's Jewelry in Borger. John married Maggie Dowdle on May 30, 1945 in Columbus, MS. He served in the US Air Force during WW II and was a POW for six months in Southern Germany. He was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge, VFW DAV, POW, and Panhandle Chapter of Ex Prisoners of War. BRBRHe was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Maggie Bulla, his wife, Maggie in 1999 and sister Almaree.BRBRSurvivors include his son - Gary Bulla and wife, Candy of Eastland, two brothers - H. E. Bulla, Jr. of Georgetown, Howard Bulla of Tyler, two grandchildren - Joel Bulla and wife Jayla and Shannon Bulla and two great-grandchildren - Josh Jobye.

Casket bearers will be Steve Cross, Danny Stottlemyer, Chuck Bulla and Kenneth Gipson. Honorary casket bearers will be members of the Panhandle Chaper of EX POW's.

Memorials may be made to the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, 101 S. Main, Borger, TX 79007lBRBRThe family will be staying at 1238 Roberts in Borger
