John Mark Davis, 70, of Borger died, Monday, October 17, 2022 in Amarillo. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Minton Memorial Chapel in Borger, under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors.
John was born on December 27, 1951 in Borger, to Charles and Rosa (Hunt) Davis, where he was a lifetime resident. He married Ruby Darlene Ingram on August 14, 1975 in Borger. He retired from Conoco-Phillips, where he worked in the welding maintenance department for 25 years. He also served as a volunteer in the Phillips fire and rescue department. Living 32 years in Fritch, TX, Johnny served his community as a volunteer through the Fritch volunteer fire, rescue, and ambulance services. He was a certified paramedic and EMT and taught EMT classes, and fire and rescue for many years. Johnny also worked as a Welding Instructor and department head at Frank Phillips College, retiring from there after 12 years. He loved being able to teach and loved seeing the light when someone got it. John also loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He loved to fish, hunt, work in the yard, and taking family and friends to the shooting range. Most of all he loved his family.
John was preceded in death by his father and mother; brother, Mike Davis; sister, Marie Back; father-in-law and mother-in-law Allen Grady Ingram Jr. and Alta Lee Hudson; and brother-in-law, Freddy Dennis.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years; his mother, LaVerne Davis of Lubbock; son, Joshua Michael Davis of Sanford; daughters, Jennifer Ann Gilbert and husband, Marty of Wichita Falls, Texas; and Jessica Dawn Warton and husband, Rick of Pflugerville, Texas; sister-in-law Debbie Page of Bushland, Texas; and his sister-in-law Sharon Davis of Fritch, Texas. John was blessed with twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved greatly.
