John Eastepp

January 16, 1925 — March 17, 2010

John D. Eastepp, 85, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in Amarillo.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the First Church of The Nazarene with Rev. Terry Porter, officiating. Interment will be in The Garden of Devotion at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Eastep was born on January 16, 1925 in Logan, New Mexico to Clyde Alma Eastepp. He had been a Borger resident since 1951 moving here from Kansas. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He married Dorothy Gwen on September 29, 1969 in Borger, and she preceded him in death in 1997. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office. He was also preceded in death by a son Farron Bankston in 1999, two brothers Douglas Eastep and Leonard Eastepp and two sisters Oza Lee Popejoy and Helen Huff.

He is survived by his son Lundy Eastepp of Austin, daughter Rhonda Sue Deleon of Amarillo, brother Clarence White of Colorado Springs, Co., two sisters Fern Cain of Logan, NM, Ozell Arnett of Canyon, five grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
