John Fick, 50, of Borger died Saturday April 17, 2010, in Borger. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Faith Covenant Church with Reverend Les Sharp, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
John was born March 5, 1960, to Harold and Iva Fick in Groom, Texas. He married Sharon Cockrell October 25, 1983, in Amarillo, Texas. He was a lifetime resident of Borger, and he worked for ConocoPhillips for over 20 years. He was a member of Faith Covenant Church in Borger. John loved fishing and taking care of every animal that came across his path. He always took time to teach his daughters and his grandchildren about cars, safety, fishing, and lots of other things. Friends and family depended on Johns expertise and handywork to fix or build anything and everything. John was a very generous man, and he was wellloved by his friends and family. Everyone who knew John has a funny story to tell.
He was preceded in death by his sister Marie Fick in 1954, mother Iva Fick in 1978, sister Lydia McKnight in 1998, and brother Chris Fick in 2006.
John is survived by his wife Sharon of the home his father Harold Fick, Sr. and wife Zoe of Borger daughters Jennifer Wilkerson and husband Bryce of Amarillo and Jill Wardlow and husband Mark of Evergreen, CO brothers Harold Fick, Jr. and wife Betty of Colony, TX Wesley Fick and wife Teresa of Texhoma, OK Leo Fick and wife Vikki of Iselin, NJ sister Sally Fick of Pampa, TX stepbrothers Bruce Jordan of Borger and Jack Jordan of Cypress, Tx stepsisters Rebecca Barnett, Georgia Malone both of Ada, OK, and Sally Holiday of Stinnett grandchildren Hannah, Lawton, Stephen, Kaylee, and Holly and several nieces and nephews.
He always stood for what was right and good and for this we shall forever cherish his memory
