John Nevils

John Phillip Nevils, 62, of Borger, TX died Sunday in Borger. Celebration of LIfe will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 12, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Borger with Pastor Steven Misch officiating. Arrangements are by Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Burial will be 1:00 pm Monday, November 28th at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX.

John was born March 12, 1954 in Dallas, TX to Claude and Marjorie (Kroner) Nevils. He moved to San Antonio, TX as a young child where he resided until joining the Navy in 1974. He married Debbie Frey on March 11, 1976 in San Diego, CA. He served for 24 years, retiring as a Chief Machinist Mate in 1998. He moved to Borger and worked at Blackhawk Station as an inventory contol/maintenance mechanic for 18 years. He loved playing golf, fishing and traveling. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

John is survived by his wife Deborah of Borger, daughters Georgine Thompson of White Salmon, WA, Joanne Nevils of Borger, TX and son Andrew (Lauren) Nevils of Dalhart, TX. Brother James Nevils of San Antonio, TX. Grandsons Avery Thompson and Xander Thompson of White Salmon, WA. Nephews Sam Nevils of Dallas, TX and Steven Nevils of San Antonio, TX.
