John Kenneth Quirk, 76, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in Amarillo.BRBRGraveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Llano Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Fortner, Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Fritch officiating. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Celebration Family Church in Fritch. Arrangements are under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.BRBRMr. Quirk was born on August 6, 1932 in Groom, Texas. He married Lily Rawlins on March 25, 1989 at Lake Meredith Baptist Church in Fritch. He served in the US Army in Korea. He enjoyed mowing, gardening, tractors, community organizing, his family and cooking.BRBRHis survivors include his wife, Lily Quirk of the home, son - Randy Quirk and wife Cindy of Amarillo, daughter - Denise Rode and husband Steve of Nederland, BRJanet Carey and Doug of Casper, Wyoming, Charlotte Coleman and husband Tim of Magnolia, TX, Step-sons - Boyd Rawlins and wife, JoAnna of Derby, KS, Les Rawlins and wife Beverly of Kingston Springs, TN, step-daughter - Janan Rawlins Martin and husband Billy of Derby, KS, eighteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers will be Joshua Quirk, Keith Quirk, Erick Quirk, Michael Carey, Matthew Carey, Christopher Hiles, Todd Coleman, Chad Coleman and Ross Rawlins.
