Stinnett Johnny Almon Monden, 79, died Sunday February 12 in Lubbock. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at the 1st Baptist Church in Stinnett with Rev. Mike Donathan, Pastor, Rev Donald Ward, Pastor of 1st United Methodist Church in Stinnett and Rev. Rhonda Greenwood, Pastor of 1st United Methodist Church in Merkel, TX. Interment with military honors will follow at Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
J. A. was a lifetime resident of this area born in Roxanne, TX near Skellytown. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Stinnett and joined the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War where he became a Staff Sgt. and was a Radio Operator. J. A. married Pat Burns June 30, 1956 in Stinnett.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa, his parents and his brother Luke.
He is survived by his wife Pat, his son John Monden and his wife Connie of Stinnett, his daughter Lori Orr and husband Steve of Stinnett, his 2 brothers Bobby and Richard both of Stinnett, his 4 sisters LaNell McCormick and Peggy Press both of Stinnett, Linda Davis of Waco and Connie McDaniel of Livingston, TX, 3 Grandchildren Chase and Sean Orr and Alis Stewart, 4 GreatGrandchildren Hayden and Lushon Alexander, Conner Orr and Whitley Stewart.
Casket Bearers will be Lane Monden, Shad Monden, Brian Monden, Randy Marchman, Mike Monden and R. L. Monden. Honorary bearers will be his nephews.
