Johnny Lee Smith, 73, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015.

Funeral service will be held 10 am Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Cross Community Church of God in Borger. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive guests from 5-7 pm Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the funeral home. His memory may be honored with a gift to Snack Pak 4 Kids, 701 Park Place Avenue, Amarillo, Texas 79101 or to Olivia's Angels, C/O The Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Foundation, 801 S Fillmore St # 700, Amarillo, TX 79101.

Johnny was born March 16, 1942 in Webb City, Oklahoma to M.W. and Jessie Smith. He was a member of the Church of God in Borger. Johnny enjoyed visiting the elderly at the nursing home, listening to southern gospel music and taking trips with his brother, Bob. Nothing brought greater joy to his life than spending time with his grandkids and family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Venita; daughter, Kim Lasater; granddaughter, Kaylin Mathews; parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.W. Smith; and sister, Etta Mae West.

Survivors include his daughters, Kelly Glenn and husband, Brandon of Tulia, Krista Bashor and husband, Chad of Borger; seven grandchildren, Tanner Boyd, Breanna Glenn, McKenzie Glenn, Jared Mathews, Bethany Bashor, Austin Bashor; son-in-law, Doug Lasater; brothers, Bob Smith of Borger, Luther Smith of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jerry Smith and wife, Nelda of Borger, Carl Smith and wife, Lee of Borger, Don Smith of Borger; sisters, Edith Barker of Georgia, Helen Wiggin and husband, James of Guymon, Pauline Farmer and husband, Randall of Borger; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family.
