J. "Ol Roy" Garrett

J. Royce “Ol Roy” Garrett, 89, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021.

Graveside services will be held 2 pm on Friday, December 17, 2021 in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the funeral home in Fritch.  In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to the Panhandle Alzheimer's Association, 5410 Bell St #411, Amarillo, Texas, 79109.

Roy was born September 11, 1932 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Lester Garrett and Winnie Swanson Garrett.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force.  Roy married the love of his life Oleta “Jo” Fields on June 2, 1967 in Borger.  He loved the Lord and his church and enjoyed serving as a church Elder and Deacon at Grace Church in Borger.  Roy liked to take care of his trees and collecting coins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Winnie Garrett; his beloved wife, Jo.

Survivors include his son, Gary Garrett and wife Misty of Spearman; and two grandchildren, Austin and Cody.
