Jose Rodriguez

Jose A. Rodriguez, 80 of Panhandle passed away Wednesday March 28, 2018 in Amarillo. Rosary will be said Sunday at 6:00 pm at The Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be 10:00 am Monday at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Panhandle. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery under the Direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
Jose was born August 2, 1937 to Silviano Rodriguez and Martina Gauzin Rodriguez in Mexico. He has lived in Carson County for 58 years where he farmed and later was the grounds keeper at Panhandle Cemetery. He married Refugia Juanez on March 15, 1956 in Mexico. He enjoyed his grandkids, being outdoors and his dog Shadow.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 2012 and a sister, Maximiana Rodriguez.
Surviving are his sons, Martin Rodriguez of Panhandle, Ricardo Rodriguez and wife Nelissa of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughters, Bertha Rodriguez and husband Roberto of Panhandle, Sonia Walker and husband Danny of Amarillo, and Anna Hernandez and husband Hector of Canyon, TX; sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Teofila Rodriguez.
