Joseph Cassidy

Joe Cassidy of Panhandle, 81, died Monday, May 23, 2011 in Amarillo.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Lewis Holland, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Director s of Panhandle.

Joe was born on February 28, 1930 in Napavine, Washington to Pat Mildred Cassidy. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a retired scientist at the Pantex Plant. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Panhandle, past PTA president and taught Sunday School over twenty years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Cassidy, daughter Susan Cassidy, brother Bob Cassidy and parents Pat Mildred Cassidy.

Joe is survived by his wife Lei Shuang Cassidy of the home, two sons John Cassidy of McKinney, TX, Jay Cassidy of Prosper, TX, six grandchildren Cassie Daniel, Rachel, Andrew, Ryan, Hunter and Kaitlyn Cassidy and his nephew Mike Cassidy of Wenatchee, WA.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
