Kasandra "Sandy" Lynn Black of Miami, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on October 13, 2017. Arrangements are by Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Sandy was born on September 17, 1954, in Borger, Texas and resided in the Texas Panhandle for most of her life. She had a career in nursing for over 40 years and spent her life taking care of others.
She cherished her family and was an amazing mother who lived for her children and grandchildren; they were her pride and joy. She was an animal lover and loved her fur babies and her grand dogs.
Sandy loved to travel, and in her retirement, would take weekend trips to sightsee and learn about regional history. She loved the Texas Panhandle and was fascinated with its landscape and wildlife. She enjoyed porch time in the mornings with her coffee and bible. She had a hunger for knowledge and viewed life as an unending education. She took pleasure in cooking, reading and playing any kind of game. She had a creative mind and was always looking for her next project.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Jeffery Holcomb and her fur babies, Toto and Jake. She is survived by her children, Kasey Black of Miami, Texas; Amy Zybach and husband, Clay of Wheeler, Texas; Bo Black and wife, Melanie of Amarillo, Texas; her mother, Nita Holcomb of Borger, Texas; sister, Rocky Fuger and husband, Phil of Boerne, Texas; brother, Michael Holcomb and wife, Radonna of Billings, Montana; her grandchildren, Rylee and Rex Zybach of Wheeler, Texas; her fur babies, Maggie, Buddha and Bun Bun, and many friends and extended family. The family is holding a private celebration of life. Memorials may be made to your local animal shelter or rescue center.
