Katherine Anderson

Katherine Scheller Anderson, 79, of Panhandle, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011.

A celebration service in honor of her life will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 17, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church of Panhandle with Rev. Michael Anderson and Leonard Holt officiating. Burial will be at the Dimmitt Memorial Gardens, Dimmit, Texas at 2 p.m. under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Katherine was born Novemember 26, 1931 in Hale County, Texas to Alber and Alma Viola Beavers Scheller. She was married to Bazil Anderson May 8, 1948 in Muleshoe, Texas.

Katherine was a housewife and beautician, having her own business, Katherines Beauty Shop, in Panhandle from 1969 to 1995. She had many interests but particularly enjoyed crosstitching, the Gaither Homecoming Videos, Bible Study, and time with her family.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers, O.D. Scheller, Barney Scheller, and Bobby Scheller, and five sisters, Mary Bogart, Grace Anderson, Martha Ozment, Lorene Stuka, and Pat Brydle.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Anderson and wife Diane of Dallas, Malcolm Anderson and wife Connie of Dumas four daughters, Laquita Labus and husband Stewart of Amarillo, Kathy Holt and husband Leonard of Panhandle and Cindy Platt and husband Johnny of Pampa, and Rebecca Rusk and husband Scott of Panhandle 18 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Waylon Scheller and wife Barbara of Panhandle, and Jack Scheller and wife Arlene of Amarillo and a sister, Linda Barnett and husband Bill of Borger.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Scholarship Fund of the United Methodist Church, Box 549, Panhandle, Texas 79068, or Bivins Memorial Nursing home, 1001 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, Texas 79106
