Kathy Kenyon

Kathryn Sue Chambers Kenyon passed from this life on January 27, 2025. Kathy is now rejoicing and resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, where she’s no longer in pain.

Funeral service will be at 2 pm on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Celebration Family Church in Fritch, Texas with Brother Dwight Kirksey and Brother Rob Frary officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.  There will be a visitation from 5-7 pm on Thursday evening at the funeral home in Fritch with the family.

Kathy was born on February 22, 1958, in Denver, Colorado to Mary Lou Simpson and Richard Chambers. Kathy attended Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Kathy married Ronald Kenyon on November 26th, 1988, in Sanford, Texas.

There was no greater joy in Kathy’s life than her family, especially her children and her grandchildren. Kathy spent her life as a homemaker and as a caregiver. On any occasion or holiday, the Kenyon household was known by the neighborhood for having family get-togethers or a celebration of life for any given moment. Kathy was known to offer an extension to anyone during the holidays. Kathy loved to cook and wanted no one left behind on any holiday. Kathy found the love language in life was to offer her cooking to someone or to offer a helpful hand to anyone in need.

Kathy had many adopted children and grandchildren. She often would tell them, “Just call me ‘Mom’ or ‘Nana’”. Kathy took pride in carrying the names of ‘Mom and Nana’. There was no greater love for Kathy than the love of her children and grandchildren. Kathy also enjoyed going to the casino and playing card games on family night. She enjoyed watching her soap operas, had a love for red roses, and was an avid Denver Broncos fan.  Kathy was an active member in the Borger Elks Lodge, Amarillo Elks Lodge, The Eastern Star, and a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Kathy was proceeded in death by her grandma, Alta Carrell; parents, Mary Lou Simpson and Richard Chambers; and brother, Daniel Chambers.

She is survived by her loving husband for the last thirty-seven years, Ronald Kenyon of the home; daughters, Chrystal Love and husband Hank of Borger, Samantha Hammack and husband Ryan of Fritch, Emily Kenyon and fiancé Joshua of Borger; a special niece, Destiny Jones and husband Todd of Sanford; son, Shaun Dillon; grandchildren, Hank Love II and wife Amber, Alexis Love, Alexandra Matthews, Shayden Jones, Scarlett Boyett, Landon Jones, Zoey Kenyon, Wyatt Young, Blake Young, Bradley Andersen, Levi Kenyon, River Hammack; great-grandchildren, Luna, Perseus, Brian and Rylee; siblings, Theresa Chambers of Aurora, Colorado, Laura Irazoque and husband Rudy of Thorton, Colorado, Vaughan Chambers and wife Alicia of Cape Coral, Florida, Rick Edmond and wife Stephanie of Stafford, Virginia, Lee Mitchell, Michael Spaulding, Steven Spaulding, Raymond Spaulding; sisters-in-law, Ruthie Chambers, Kimberly Parker of Fritch, Christina McDonald and husband Michael of Fort Ashby, West Virginia; brothers-in-law,Jackie Brown and wife Vickie of Amarillo, Jimmy Brown and wife Shawna of Borger; step-sisters, Debbie Mestas and Kathy Vigil of Denver, Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
