Keith Cook

December 17, 1943 — December 1, 2021

Panhandle

Keith Edward Cook, 77, of Panhandle Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 1st, 2021.

Keith was born on December 17th, 1943 to Paul and Barbara Cook in Newhall, CA. After high school Keith proudly served his country from 1960-1964 in the United States Navy.

In 1958, Keith met Margaret Boyes, his lifetime love and soulmate, at the high school they both attended. On March 20, 1961 they would begin the first day of a beautiful sixty-year marriage. Keith and Margaret went on to have four children, Keith, Rita, Bert, and Kimberly.

Keith was a noted fisherman, hunter, and all-around lover of the outdoors. He could fix anything, build anything and mechanic with the best of them. He was also an avid reader of western novels, with Louis L'Amour being his favorite. He was a man who knew the value of honesty and a hard day's work, and tried to instill those same values in his family. He will be remembered for his off-beat sense of humor, and his love he had for his family and those around him.

Keith was preceded in passing by his parents Paul and Barbara Cook, and a brother, Milton Cook.

He is survived by his wife of Sixty years Margaret Cook of Panhandle, his children Keith and Susan Cook of Amarillo, Tx, Rita McKinley of Panhandle, Tx, Bert and Ruth Cook of Pinetop-Lakeside, Az, and Kimberly Sober of Panhandle. He's also survived by his brother Merle and wife Sherry Cook of Wisconsin, nine grandchildren Stephen, Ann, Sam, Tori, Drew, Chase, Christian, Brady and Brantzen, thirteen great grandchildren, multiple nieces and nephews, and dozens of kids that were loved and babysat by "Papa" over the years.

The family will not be holding a service, in observation of Keith's wishes, and asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

"The trail is the thing, not the end of the trail." -Louis L'Amour
