Kent Akins

Kent Akins, 74, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018.

Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Faith Christian Fellowship with Pastor Terry Corbett and Pastor Tim Bernard officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the funeral home.

Kent was born June 11, 1943 in Phillips, Texas to Newten Silas Akins and Stella May Killingsworth. He was a member of Faith Christian Fellowship. Kent enjoyed camping, traveling and drawing. Nothing brought more joy to his life than his granddaughter, Anese. Kent had a big heart and he claimed many other "grandkids and family" as his own that he held dearly in his heart.

He is preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Floyd Trent Akins; brothers, James and Billy Joe Akins; sisters, Betty Hobgood and Judy Briley.

Survivors include his son, Shawn Akins and wife Rose of Borger; granddaughter, Anese Akins of Borger; sister, Wanda Watson-Berry of Englewood, Colorado and special friends, Jo Ann Eason and Patty Love.
