L.A. Reese

L.A. (Buddy) Reese, 76, passed away Monday, June 8, 2015.

Funeral service will be held 1:30 pm on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Keeler Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Bartley officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Buddy was born December 19, 1938 in Willis, Oklahoma to Charles and Irene (Loy) Reese. He moved to Borger as a young child and began many lifelong friendships. He dedicated his life to Christ at Eastside Baptist Church. He proudly served in the United States Army in the 465th Missile Battalion stationed at Hamburg, New York where he met his future bride, Beverly Schoener. They married in Hamburg, New York on April 4, 1959.

Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Buddy and Beverly moved back to Borger, started a family and began his long career as a master electrician. He owned and operated Tri-City Electric since 1969. He was very proud of being voted "Best Electrician in Hutchinson County" two years running. He worked hard for many years. Work was his passion.

He spent many years coaching and sponsoring baseball and softball teams. Over the years he enjoyed collecting coins and surrounding himself with family photos. He cherished and valued his family and many close friends. Those who knew Buddy are familiar with his sense of humor that he kept until the very end.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly; brothers, Wallace, Jesse, Charlie; and sisters, Junita, Charlene, Lucille and Justine.

Survivors include his sons, Scott Reese and his wife Laura of Ashland, Kentucky, Michael Reese and wife Brenda of Amarillo, Steven Reese and wife Nikki of New Braunfels; four grandchildren, Hannah, Kate, Lexi, Riley; brother, J.L. Reese of Amarillo; sister, Luanna Ingram of California; and many nieces and nephews.
