Lafern Pratt, 90, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017.
Funeral services will held 2:30 pm Saturday, February 25, 2017 in the Minton Memorial Chapel in Borger. Burial will follow in the Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the funeral home in Panhandle. In honor of carrying on the legacy left by John and Lafern Pratt in sowing the seeds of the Gospel into the lives of children and adults alike, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kingdom Kids Ministry, care of Pam Fitzgibbon, 1308 Virginia Avenue, Early, Texas 76802.
Lafern Pratt was born July 30, 1926 in Morris, Oklahoma to Carrie Amelia Waggoner and Joseph Sam Wilburn. She was a lover of people and Jesus Christ. She and her husband together served as ministers for 30 years and then evangelized for another 30 years, spending more than 60 years serving the Lord. Lafern was a gifted musician who played the piano, organ to name a few instruments and sang. She was a professional artist and and an incredible seamstress and designer. Lafern was the life of the party living each day to the fullest.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Rev. Johnny Pratt and Bob Hudson; son, Johnny Pratt, Jr.; daughter, Joanetta Kitchens; granddaughter, Krissy Jo Kitchens; grandson, Phillip John Pratt; three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Pam Fitzgibbon and husband Jim of Early; daughter-in-love, Jackie Pratt of Wellington; nine grandchildren; and twenty-two great grandchildren.
