Larry Don Phillips

Larry Don Phillips, 79, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Fritch Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. The family will receive guests from 5-7 pm on Friday, September 20, 2024, at the funeral home in Fritch. 

Larry was born November 1, 1944, in Borger, Texas to Otto Phillips and Lola Neely Phillips. He married Mary Sue Wells on July 7, 1967, in Fritch. Larry was an avid storyteller that could captivate audiences of all ages. He enjoyed fishing and had a deep love of horses. Nothing brought more joy to his life than his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Lola Phillips; wife, Mary Phillip; two sisters, Betty Jones, Earline Miller; and one brother, Boyd Phillips 

Survivors include his daughters, Joy Bearden and fiancé Donny Martinez of Amarillo, Donna Purcell and husband John, III of Odessa; grandchildren, Amber Howard, Zackery Burnett and Natalie Island, Kelsey SaaVedra and husband Dylan, John Purcell, IV and wife Rebecca, Shad Purcell and wife Kayce; great grandchildren, Remington, Brooklyn, Gracelynn, Haidyn, Avery, Creede; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of extended family; canine companion, Lady; and his appaloosa, Blue Freckles.
