Larry Thompson

Larry Joe Thompson, 84, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Burwash officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.  In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to Calvary Baptist Church, 602 N McGee, Borger, Texas 79007.

Larry was born December 3, 1939, in Corning, Kansas to Joseph Harold Thompson and Lula Gallion Thompson.  He married Barbara Haugh, the love of his life, on July 18, 1958, in Phillips. Larry enjoyed making clocks, fishing, and hunting.  He was a self-taught Mr. Fix-it. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lula Thompson; wife, Barbara Thompson; brothers, Elmer, Dale, Bill; and sister, Dorothy.

Survivors include his daughters, Deanna Owens and husband Danny of Amarillo, Donna Roark and husband Denny of Pampa; seven grandchildren including Justin Roark and wife Katie, Jason Roark and wife Kelleen; nineteen great grandchildren including Kaydence Roark, Troy Roark, Matthew Roark, Nathan Roark; one great great-granddaughter; brothers, Donnie, Gary and wife Margie; sister, Connie; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
