Laura Ann Ellis

Laura Ann Ellis, 80, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, April 17, 2025, in the Minton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jerry Moon officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Laura was born July 16, 1944, in Shamrock, Texas to “WW” Willie Wills Stowe and Esther Pierce Stowe. She worked for Walmart for many years, always happy to get to visit with fellow shoppers. Laura enjoyed trips to Vegas, tending to her flower garden and the occasional whiskey nightcap. Nothing brought more joy to her life than being called Nan by her beloved grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, WW Stowe and Esther Stowe; husband, JW “Dub” Ellis; and granddaughter, Jaicee Ellis.

Survivors include her children, Sherry Hernandez and husband Junior of Borger, Dana Crawley of Austin, James Ellis and wife Mary, Cyndi Stevens and husband Larreon; grandchildren, Misty Dunham, Brandon Burns, Jeffrey Turner, Kenya Williams, Hannah Frederick, Dallas Dennis, Bethani Ellis, Ally Crawley, Jack Crawley, Sammy Crawley; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Tommy Stowe of Stinnett; and a host of extended family and friends.
