Lenda Kay Franklin, 65, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 in Amarillo. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Paul Burwash, pastor of Fairlanes Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Lenda was born October 6, 1948 in Amarillo to Len Baker and Nervie Johnson Baker. She has lived her lifetime in this area and was a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church. She married Delbert Franklin January 9, 1974 in Stinnett and worked at Golden Plains Community Hospital and then for Dr. Ed Quiros as his nurse. Lenda was a caring, thoughtful selfless mother to her children, she loved her kids and grandkids and loved to have family gatherings at her home. She was an avid QVC shopper and loved to give all of her family gifts, Lenda was also a great cook.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years Delbert, her two sons Jerry Len Elliott, Sr. and his wife Ofelia of Stinnett and Randy Elliott and Jennifer Anderson of Amarillo her daughter Rhonda Kay Kessler and husband Pete of Seagoville, TX, her two brothers Gene Baker of Greeley, CO and Charlie Baker of Virginia Beach, VA her three sisters Nona Johnston of Fritch, Martha Selman of Orting, WA and Betty Fick of Borger, Seven grandchildren Kevin Hamilton, Jerry Len Elliott, Jr., Whitney Elliott, Brendon Moss, Sammy Chase Elliott, Emory Elliott and Jacey Elliott and five greatgrandchildren Seraphin, Rylea, Mackenzie, Brianna and Nathaniel.
